Stand on the tee at 17 and the shot is simple to describe and hard to hit: a green surrounded almost entirely by water, no room for a bad decision, no mulligan if you get it wrong. Every golfer who's played it, or watched someone else play it under pressure, knows that feeling.
Buying golf equipment has a smaller version of that same problem. A dozen tour balls or a new wedge is real money, the marketing copy all sounds the same, and once it's out of the box, it's yours. Island Greens exists to close the gap between what a product claims and what independent testing actually shows, so the decision feels less like a blind swing and more like a shot you've already played in your head.
How the guides get built
Each comparison pulls from publicly available launch-monitor data, robot testing, and on-course reviews from outlets that don't sell the equipment they're reviewing. Manufacturer claims are included too, but always labeled as manufacturer claims: a spec sheet number and an independently measured number aren't the same thing, and this site won't blur them together. Where the data is mixed or inconclusive, that gets said plainly rather than papered over with a confident-sounding verdict.
Affiliate disclosure
Island Greens participates in affiliate advertising programs, including the Amazon Associates Program, designed to provide a means for sites to earn commissions by linking to affiliated retailers such as Amazon.com and Amazon.ca. As an Amazon Associate, Island Greens earns from qualifying purchases at no additional cost to you. Product recommendations and verdicts on this site are based on the data described above and real hands-on experience with the equipment, not on which retailer or program pays the highest commission.
Privacy
This site does not currently run any analytics or tracking of its own, and it does not collect or store personal information. It does not sell or share visitor data with third parties. Affiliate links may set cookies through the retailer's own site once you click through. That's between you and the retailer, governed by their privacy policy, not ours.
